This is an unusual Victorian silver locket. The design of a shadow box is quite unique. It is silver and has accents of a low carat rose gold. on the front and back. The simplicity of the design makes this a perfect addition to a niello mixed metal, or a plain silver chain of choice. It is shown in one of the photos joined with a long niello chain offered in a separate listing.. It measures 1 3/4 inches down X 1 1/4 inches across. The depth is 2/8 ths. inches. This locket can house small gems, so popular today, photos, locks of hair etc. or, just wear it plain. It is daily opened by lifting a small knob on the back bezel. Condition is excellent. Unique, Victorian circa 1880. |
