Great Mexican Silver Buckle Cuff Bracelet

This beautiful well designed silver, modernist bracelet is circa 1950. It has great proportions and has superb silver work. The design is similar to that of Antonio Pineda and is classically inspired. It is a working buckle and strap designed to perfectly encircle the wrist.

The bracelet is finely finished, smooth and sleek. It opens realistically like a strap, with a buckle rendered in tortoise shell. The inner circumference is 6 3/4 inches. The buckle measures 1 1/4 inches in length and the bracelet tapers to 1 1/4 inches in the back. The size is not adjustable, as it connects with a silver hook in only one section of the strap. It is meant to be worn as a fitted cuff, but can drape comfortably on a smaller wrist. It is stamped with a maker's mark, Taxco, and an eagle mark.

Condition is excellent, with some a small amount of tiny surface scratches commensurate with wear. Taxco, Mexico, 1950's
