| This brooch is Georgian, circa 1810. It has rich,dark faceted amethysts that are foiled back and set in an alternating pattern. The amethysts are all set in crimped, cut down mounts and are closed back. Central to the brooch is a translucent moss picture agate, which is set in a crimped gold bezel. It is surrounded by beautifully matched natural pearls. The combination of the green,purple and white is very beautiful. The reverse has minor dings commensurate with the age of the brooch. It retains the C-clasp and T-bar mounts and tests as 12k. It measures 1 1/4 inches across x 1 1/8 down. The size is larger than most pins of this design. The condition is excellent. | |||||||||
