Lovely,Victorian silver moonstone brooch circa 1900. It is navette shaped and has beautiful cabachon moonstones mixed with red and green synthetic faceted stones. The moonstones all have the characteristic lovely sheen called adularescence. The silver work is well done, and all stones have ornate prong settings. The brooch measures 1 1/2 inches across x 1 inch down. The reverse has all original mounts and a secure C-clasp. The silver has a slight gold gilding creating a lovely patina. The condition is excellent. |
