| This Scottish,agate brooch is circa 1860. It is set with a glorious combination of agates including Montrose gray,moss,mustard and salmon colors. The design too is rare as it is not a celtic motif, but an artistic design. The moss agates are inlaid and the others cut encabachon. The mustard colored agates used in the sides of the central design are carved as well. The reverse has all original mounts and the condition is excellent and all original. It measures 2 3/4 inches across x 1 7/8 inches down. It is one of the loveliest designs and combination of colors I have sold. | |||||||
