| This is a stunning early 19th century cut steel and pearl bracelet. It is rare to find, especially in this condition. Not to be confused with modern marcasite, this is quite different, and set with finely faceted steel heads, polished to create a lovely hue and sparkle of light. Each piece is riveted to the steel back plate as seen in the photos of the reverse of the bracelet. This time consuming work is evidence of early cut steel jewelry. The central motif is a flower head set with a cluster of cut steel in a star motif. It is surrounded by beautiful blown glass pearls. The bracelet measures 6 1/4 inches x 1 1/8 inches. The clasp is the original push clasp and is secure. The condition is remarkable and all original. This circa 1810 bracelet is as lovely as the day it was first worn. | ||||||||
