This Scottish brooch is circa 1860. The agates are the color of the fall season. Artistically splendid in proportion and choice of color. The design is clean,simple and refined. There is no distraction of engraving or ornamentation. It was rendered by a talented lapidary who could not only cut the stones,but choose and place them artistically. The brooch measures 3 1/4 inches long x 1 1/2 inches down. The reverse has all original mounts. The condition is excellent and all original. Simply beautiful, circa 1860 |
