| This very traditional, antique Scottish agate brooch is circa 1880. It has bloodstone and jasper agates set in 9k gold that has been finely hand engraved. Each of the four corners of the central section are decorated with a fleur de lys, symbolic of the Auld Alliance between France and Scotland in 1295. The center cairngorm is from the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland and has a rich hue. The pin measures 1 1/2 inches. It is completely original, including T-bar and C-clasp. It is elegant, traditional and the perfect size for a jacket or sweater. Rare to find antique Scottish agate jewelry in gold, and this is a beautiful example. Excellent condition, circa 1880 | ||||||
