Antique Victorian Silver Acorn Earrings
These antique sterling earrings are English, circa 1860. Symbolic of strength, wisdom and fertility, the acorn earrings are meaningful as well as rare. They are finely executed with smooth silver, balanced with textural elements. The leaves, hammered from behind, are realistic and finely rendered.

The earrings are completely original and in excellent condition. They are light weight and hollow retain ing the appropriate tiny holes in the back of the acorn drops, which allowed for the escape of air during the manufacturing process. They measure 1 1/4 inches long x slightly less than 3/4 across the leaves. The acorns articulate freely from the leaves and have a beautiful patina.

They would be a fine addition to any Victorian silver jewelry collection, as this figural form is quite rare. England, circa 1860
