| Each time I come across something unique it thrills me. This pair of earrings are English, circa 1850, and are exquisitely rendered in gold and turquoise. The condition defies the age, as these are near pristine. They are designed as clusters of flower heads centered with cabachon turquoise stones. The original patina of the 18k gold is extraordinary and rich. It is also remarkably light, and almost floats on the ear and yet it makes a bold statement. It measures almost 2 3/8 inches long with the wire x 7/8 across. The balance and sculptural quality set this apart from any others. England, circa 1850. | |||||||
