It terminates with a beautiful and original secure padlock that is finely engraved. On the front it bears a raised Maltese cross with turquoise and garnet stones. The reverse has an original convex glass surrounded by fine engraving. The padlock itself measures 1 1/4 inches from the top x 6/8 across the width. It has two minor dents on the edge. The pierced links measure 7/8 across x 1/2 down. The bracelet measures 8 inches and will accommodate an average wrist. It is light, weighing 15dwt, and gives a very bold impression. It is completely original and beautiful. English, circa 1840.
