Victorian Silver Etruscan Earrings
These silver earrings are English, circa 1880 and are beautifully designed and executed. The style is Etruscan Revival, very popular during this period and usually reserved for gold jewelry as the process is time consuming and labor intensive. Spirals of silver have created this lovely pattern and applied petals and central element complete the rendition of a sunflower. It is more unusual in motif, and quite wearable as it complements the silver jewelry of the period in a subtle way. The earrings are completely original including the tops, have beautiful texture and patina. They measure 1.5 inches from the top of the wire. The disc alone measures 3/4 inches. The condition is excellent with only a tiny bend in one ear wire that doesn't affect the appearance or wear. These are classical, elegant Victorian earrings. English, circa 1880.
