BEAUTIFUL 20" x 16" (size without frame) oil on canvas depicting impressionist bust portrait of gypsy woman, by Chicago artist H. Knutzen, exhibit tag on the reverse from the Chicago Artists Exhibition, Palmer House - I think this was an exhibit of the Art Institute of Chicago. Neither the tag nor the exhibit tag is dated, but the painting was done circa 1920. The frame is fantastic - constructed of a 3 1/2" flat profile dark stained oak with a raised carved and gilt wood secti ...click for details
Gorgeous 16" x 20" oil painting on board of autumn scene, absolutely the best I've ever seen by Brown County artist Francis Clark Brown (1908-1992), signed lower left, in fantastic carved gilt frame, by the artist or a contemporary Brown County artist. The brushwork and use of color on this one is just spectactular. A perfect investment piece for collectors of Brown County.
Extraordinary apprx. 30" x 18" x 14" mixed metal sculpture of sprouting seed, done in mixed metals, with medium brown patina. A work of exceptional craftsmanship, and a one of a kind piece. Purchased from a Chicago estate as a sculpture by Helene Hibben (b. 1882), but the piece is not signed, so I am unable to document it is such. It certainly stands on it's own as a very fine sculpture.
Beautiful apprx. 18" x 24" oil on board depicting California mountain landscape by well listed artist Martha Wheeler Baxter (1869-1955). Wonderful light impressionist palette and soft brushstrokes on this piece, in fantastic original carved Western frame. In very good original condition; some minor scattered losses to the paint along the left side of the pathway, and a couple flakes to the lower right quadrant. All else excellent.

Charming clown doll, made circa 1940 by listed IL artist Louise Woodroofe (1892-1996). Ms. Woodroofe, an art professor at the University of Illinois, traveled with the Ringling Bros. circus during summers in the 1930's, and has become well known for her depictions of circus life. She was primarily a painter, but occasionally created figural dolls, such as this one.
