An early Victorian relief moulded stoneware jug, probably by Charles Meigh and published in 1847. The pattern is "Bacchanalian Dancers" after scenes from "Bacchanalian dancers revel befoere a herm of Pan" by Poussin. It has the numbers 80 and 16 impressed to the base.Dating from c.1850, it stands 4 1/2 inches high The body has fired with brown inclusions, probably iron in the paste. This gives the mug more of a buff tone than that shown in the photos. The glazed interior also has slight staining. It is in good condition.

A charming pottery cat figure manufactured in Staffordshire , England in the late C19th/ early C20th. It is brightly decorated in red, yellow, and peuce enamels and gilt. It stands 7 1/4inches high. There is a small fault to one corner of the base caused by a bubble burst in the kiln, which is partially filled with glaze, and a crack to the right forleg. There is wear to the gilding, minor enamel loss and very minor areas of stains to the crazing to the glaze. Please take time to look at the photos and you will see that this CATalogue of minor faults amounts to little and the overall condition is good
