A good quality Chinese cloisonne bowl with gilt bronze rims and wires decorated with dragons pursuing a flaming pearl. The base and interior are enamelled in blue. Dating from C.1900-20, it measures 5 1/2inches (14 cms) wide. There is some wear to the gilding on the wires. The interior base is stained where someone used it as a plant holder.

A very unusual miniature chinese censer made of silver and decorated in coloured enamels with shou characters and wufu. It is signed to the base. Dating to the C19th., it measures 2 1/4inches (5.8 cms) max. across the handles. There is some significant enamel loss. (Please study photos). It is in, otherwise, good condition.

A fine pair of small chinese cloisonne yen yen vases beautifully decorated in a millefiori design with ruyi borders. The bronze wires, rim and base gilded. Probably dating from the C19th., they stand 4 3/4inches (12.1 cms) high. Each has some minor damage as shown in the close-up photos. They display well.

Chinese Canton enamel cupstand decorated in famille rose colours and gilt on a deep cobalt blue ground. The reverse is covered in a turquoise enamel. Dating from the early C19th., it measures 4 1/4inches (10.8 cms) across. It is in very good condition.

Chinese canton enamel seal paste box painted in famille rose enamels with a lady by a river bank. It has a 4 character Qianlong mark to the base. Dating from the C19th., or possibly Qianlong, it measures 2 1/8inches (5.5 cms) across. There is an small area where the inner rim has not been securely soldered to the body. See Photo No.8. (This inner rim is still very firmly attached). It is in very good condition. Similar box sold April 2009 at Sworders oriental sale lot 227.

An unusual chinese figure of Buddha made from repousse and engraved copper work finished with red and blue enamel.The enamel colours are deeper than shown on the photo. Dating from the early C19th., it stands 3 1/4inches (8.2cms) high. It would originally have been filled with sand and sealed with a copper bottom (now missing). There is some enamel loss and his nose is worn through. These figures are quite scarce.

A Chinese bowl decorated with high fired enamels on a bronze base. The enamels are famille rose with two reserves on a deep, rich blue ground. Dating from the mid C19th., it measures 6 inches across. There are 2 very faint stress areas to the interior (fairly normal) and a crack at the footrim (see photo). It is in good condition for this type of delicate wear.

A chinese box decorated with coloured enamels on a bronze base (Canton enamel). The lid has the unusual and desirable subject of two quail amongst flowers. Dating from the first quarter of the C19th., it measures 4 1/4inces (10.7cms) long, 2inches (5cms) wide and 1 3/8inches (3.5cms) deep. There are minor enamel losses to two corners of the lid. It is in otherwise good condition. (N.B.:-There are white lines that look like faults in the enamel. Early canton enamel colours were painted over a white enamel base colour and contract sightly when fired. These marks are normal. Indeed, if you see early Canton enamel without such marks, treat it with scepticism.)

A chinese barrel shaped box and cover made of canton enamel. It has 2 applied lion mask handles. The famille rose cartouches are reserved on a cobalt blue ground enamelled over silver foil floral patterns. Dating from the early C19th., it measures 4 inches high and 4 1/2inches across. There are some losses to the enamel.

A Chinese cloisonne vase decorated to the main body with flowers on a keyfret ground. Dating from the late C19th., it stands 9 1/8inches (23.4 cms) tall. There are two very small areas of enamel loss (see photos). It is in, otherwise, good condition.
