A beautifully decorated Japanese cloisonne vase worked with silver wire and enamel with a duck amongst aquatic plants.It has the mark for Gonda Hirosuke to the base.

Dating from the 2nd half of the C19th., it stands 3 1/2inches (9 cms) high.

There are cracks to the front and some more substantial damage to the back. Never the less, a rare object that displays well.

A very unusual European decorated arita tea bowl and saucer painted with a fence pattern on a lime green ground. The interior of the cup with turquoise enamel.

Dating from c.1700, the cup measures 2 1/4inches (5.7 cms) across and the saucer 3 5/8inches (9.3 cms).

There is some wear to the gilding and a small chip to the rim of the cup.

A miniature Fukagawa vase decorated in red and white enamel and gilt with dragons on a dark blue ground.

Dating from c1900., it stands 2 7/8inches (7.2 cms) high.

There is a miniscule frit to the rim. It is in otherwise very good condition.

An unusual Japanese porcelain Koro decorated in underglaze blue in the Shonsui style. It is well modelled with a beautiful knop in the form of a double gourd tied with tassels. For an identical caddy, see Irene Finch's "Japanese Shonsui in Evolution" Pl. LC151.

Dating from C19th or later, it stands 3 7/8inches (9.8 cms) high.

It is in excellent condition.

A pair of very stylish Koransha vases decorated in enamels and gilt with snowflakes on a matt celadon ground. The rim and base with underglaze blue and imari palette.

Dating from c.1900, they stand 6 inches (15.2 cms) high.

There are some very minor scratches to the celadon ground and very minor wear to gilding on rim of one vase.

An amusing Hirado netsuke modelled as a monkey god figure. His head moves and his tongue sticks out. This is very difficult to fire without the individual moving items fusing in the kiln.

Dating from the 2nd half of the C19th., it stands 4 1/8inches (10.5 cms) high.

It is in good condition.

A fine Japanese Imari dish decorated in underglaze blue, red, yellow and green enamels and gilt. It is potted in a fine white, well levigated porcelain with a fine bubble-suffused glaze. There are 3 spur marks near the centre of the base.

Dating from the 1st half of the C18th., it measures 8 11/16inches (22.1 cms) across.

There is some minor surface wear. It is in good condition with no frits, chips or cracks.

N.B. Due to lighting, the camera has overcompensated and darkened a few of the shots including No.1. The lighter shots best represent this piece.

An unusual Satsuma koro decorated in prominently green enamel with gosu blue, other enamels and gilt with lakeside scenes. There is a full signature to the base.

Dating from the 2nd half of the C19th., it stands 3 3/8inches (9.9 cms) high with lid.

The base has a barely visible glaze crack on rim. The lid is damaged and restuck (see photos).
