SOLD 

A charming Indian bronze pot engraved with 4 bands of decoration. The larger band has figures and stylised decoration. Above that is a band of strange calligraphy which appears to be of an ancient form. There is an owners name engraved to the interior rim.

Probably dating from the C19th., it measures 4 1/2inches (11.4 cm) across.

There is a casting fault below the rim (top right of photo 7). It is in otherwise good condition.

SOLD 

A charming pair of chinese porcelain foo dogs decorated in a sancai glaze and each standing on an integral plinth. Each has a joe-stick holder on his back. One has 2 indecipherable marks to the base.

Dating from the late C19th/ early C20th., they stand 6 1/4inches (15.9 cm) high.

1). Small chips to the top of the holder and a tooth, and his separately modelled eyes are missing. It is in otherwise good condition

2). Damage to jos holder and front leg (which would have had a ball) is missing. One eye missing.

SOLD 

An english porcelain bowl painted in underglaze blue with a floral design. The potting is quite heavy from what appears to be almost a hard paste porcelain and the cobalt has run in the firing.

Dating from the C18th., it measures 6 1/2inches (16.5 cm) across.

There is a small frit to the rim and areas where the glaze has fled in firing.

A chinese porcelain bowl painted in famille verte enamels with a butterfly and flowers. There is a seal mark in a double ring in underglaze blue to the base.

Dating from the Kangxi period (1663-1722), it measures 5 1/16inches (13 cm) across.

There is an area of fritting and two chips with associated hairlines.

An oval foliate dish painted with a floral design. There is a painted mark for Charles Bourne to the base CB/72.

Dating from c.1820, it measures 11 1/4inches (28.7 cm) long.

There is some wear to the gilding and enamels. It is in otherwise good condition with no frits, chips or cracks.

A chinese porcelain tea bowl well painted with an armorial device and the initials WHB.

Dating from the C18th., it measures 3 1/16inches (7.9 cm) across.

There is a small bruise to the footrim, a couple of miniscule frits to the rim and a faint glaze crack to the exterior rim which does not come through to the interior (photos 11&12). It is in otherwise very good condition.

SOLD 

A beautiful English porcelain sucrier potted from a fine creamy white soft porcelain and painted in pink and gilt. It has a Derby mark to the base painted in red.

Dating from the early C19th., it measures 6 12/inches (16.5 cm) high.

It is in very good condition with only very minor gilt wear. The lid seems minutely oversized but is the correct, original lid and subject to the quirks of hand potting.

A chinese porcelain teapot beautifully painted in bright famille rose enamels with Long Eliza in panels on a floral ground.

Dating from the Yongzheng period (1723-35), it measures 7 1/8inches (18 cm) from tips of spout and handle.

It is in excellent condition but missing it's lid.

A chinese bronze vase with ringed mask handles. There is an archaistic frieze around the neck and waves around the foot. It has good, original patina.

Dating from or close to the Yuan dynasty, it measures nearly 8 inches (20.2 cm) tall.

Due to an impact, the base has been pushed slightly into the body. It is in otherwise very good condition.

SOLD 

A chinese blue and white porcelain plaque made from the shoulder of a ming vase and depicting deer amongst rocks and trees. The porcelain is nearly 1 inch thick and would have been from a monumental vase. The frame has been custom made from a hard metal, possibly silvered bronze.

The porcelain is early Ming, the frame C19th. It measures 7 inches (17.8 cm) across the frame.

There is a fair amount of surface wear and the glaze has fled in places (original). It weighs 1070gms so be aware of postage costs.
