SOLD 

A chinese fluted porcelain bowl, cover & stand beautifully decorated in famille rose enamels with a scene from an historical chinese story. The bowl and cover have 4 character Tongzhi marks hand painted in red enamel to the base and fish to the interior.

Probably dating from the Tongzhi period (1862-74), the bowl measures 4 1/4inches (10.8 cms) across.

The bowl has a hairline. The stand has a large chip. The lid is O.K.

A Japanese porcelain vase decorated in Ao Kutani palette and with a 2 character Kutani mark to the base.

Dating from the Meiji period, it stands 5 5/8inches (14.3 cms) high.

The glaze has some crazing typical of this type of soft bodied porcelain. It is in good condition.

SOLD 

A chinese bronze censer modelled as bamboo with reticulated lid. It is unmarked. It looks to have been repatinated. It is unmarked.

Probably dating from the C19th/ early C20th., it is a copy of an C18th original an example of which is shown in last two photos. It stands 5 7/16inches (13.8 cms) high and weighs 782gms.

Apart from the aformentioned repatination, it is in very good condition.

Dating from the C19th., it stands 6 1/2inches (16.5 cms) high.

There is some wear to the rim gilding. It is in good condition.

A Chinese porcelain round box and cover decorated in underglaze blue in the Hawthorne or Prunus pattern.

Dating from the Kangxi period (1662-1722), it measures 4 1/4inches (10.8 cms) across.

There is a frit chip to the lid, chips to the inside rim of the base and a faint star crack to the base. It is in otherwise good condition.

A Qianlong famille rose export porcelain teabowl decorated with a floral sprig.

Dating from the mid C18th., the teabowl measures 2 3/4inches (7 cms) across and the teabowl 4 1/2inches (11.5 cms).

The cup has a single frit to the rim. The saucer has minor fritting/ bubble bursts. There are no cracks.

A Chinese brown stoneware figure of a fo dog embellished in white slip. This item was made in the Shiwan kilns.

Dating from the C19th., it stands 4 1/8inches (10.5 cms) high.

Its left paw and tip of right ear are missing and its fore-legs need restoration.

Dating from the early C18th., it measures 4 3/4inches (12.1 cms) across.

There is a fault to the footrim and a 1 inch area of fritting to the rim. It is in otherwise good condition.

Dating from the C19th./ early C20th., it measures 8 1/2inches across overall. The interior measurement of the rim will take a vase or bowl with an outer footrim measuring 5 11/16inches (14.5 cms) across.

It is in good condition.
