SOLD

A fine porcelain cup and saucer decorated in famille rose enamels on a relief moulded design and on a heavily gilded ground. The cup has a very delicate entwined handle. There is an underglaze blue Naples* mark to the base.

Dating from the c19th or possibly earlier*, the saucer measures 5 3/4inches (14.8 cms) across and the cup 3 3/8inches (8.5 cms) across the rim.

There is a miniscule frit to the rim of the cup and some scratching to the centre of the saucer. It is in otherwise very good condition with very little wear.

*The Naples mark was copied by many factories including it successors Capodimonte and Doccia. I do not have the knowledge in continental porcelain to confirm whether this is Naples, its successors or any other factory. It is, however, a very good quality piece.

sold

An English porcelain bowl finely painted in famille verte type enamels with flowers, some in chinese style and others japanese. I am guessing this is from the Worcester factory but not sure. The body is a fine creamy white and transmits green. It has gritty air bubbles near the foot.

Again, I am guessing the date to be c.1760-80.

It measures 4 3/4inches (12.2 cms) across.

It has been broken in 3 pieces and restuck/ rivetted.

sold

A porcelain tea caddy decorated in underglaze blue in the "blue onion" pattern. It is probably from the Meissen factory and bears a blue crossed sword mark to the base together with painted blue "46." and an impressed "84". It is slab built from a fine white body and the front and back are very slightly concave due to firing.

Continental porcelain is not my field but I am guessing this is C19th or earlier.

It stands 4 5/8inches (11.8 cms) high inc. lid.

There is a large piece missing from the neck, a shell chip and the lid is damaged. I think this may be quite a rare item.
