Three Empires

SOLD

A beautifully potted bowl with reticulated borders painted in green, blue, yellow, black and pink enamels and thick gilding. Whilst I have seen baskets like this before, I have never seen this colour of decoration. I do not know the factory and the description "Worcester" is my catch-all. It has a very wide footrim . It appears to be a soft, perhaps soapstone type paste .

I believe this is quite an early piece. It measures 6 3/4inches (17.2 cms) across.

It has been cleanly broken in two and has had a masterpiece stapling job done on it. There is no loss to the paste and no overpainting

An English porcelain bowl finely painted in famille verte type enamels with flowers, some in chinese style and others japanese. I am guessing this is from the Worcester factory but not sure. The body is a fine creamy white and transmits green. It has gritty air bubbles near the foot.

Again, I am guessing the date to be c.1760-80.

It measures 4 3/4inches (12.2 cms) across.

It has been broken in 3 pieces and restuck/ rivetted.

Three Empires

SOLD

An English porcelain teapot of unusual shape decorated with the popular "Dragons in Compartments" pattern. It is unmarked but, judging by the softness of the paste and the light crazing, my best guess is Coalport.

Probably dating from c.1800, it measures 7 1/4inches (18 cms) from tips of spout and handle.

The is a short hairline to the neck, good restoration to the lid, some crazing and very minor wear to gilding.
