A porcelain tea caddy decorated in underglaze blue in the "blue onion" pattern. It is probably from the Meissen factory and bears a blue crossed sword mark to the base together with painted blue "46." and an impressed "84". It is slab built from a fine white body and the front and back are very slightly concave due to firing.Continental porcelain is not my field but I am guessing this is C19th or earlier.
It stands 4 5/8inches (11.8 cms) high inc. lid.
There is a large piece missing from the neck, a shell chip and the lid is damaged. I think this may be quite a rare item.
