A pair of chinese porcelain bowls painted in famille rose enamels on a cafe au lait ground. The interiors are glazed turquoise. They each have a 4 character stamped Tongzhi mark to the base.
Probably dating from the Tongzhi period (1862-74), they measure 4 5/8inches (11.7 cms) across.
Each has wear to the rim gilding and to the turquoise enamel interior. One has 2 small rim chips.
N.B. The lighting made the ground colour difficult to captue. It is best represented on photo No. 1.
A Japanese porcelain tea bowl or saki cup decorated in typical early imari style in underglaze blue, red enamels and gilt all over a soft, bubble suffused glaze.
Dating from c. 1700, it measures 2 3/4inches (7 cms) across.
There is a piece of kiln grit on the interior and there is some wear to the gilding. It is in very good condition with no frits, chips or cracks.
