A chinese cloisonne box with hinged lid decorated with flowers on a turquoise ground. Probably dating from the C19th. (possibly early C20th.), it measures 4 3/4 x 3 3/8 x 2 1/8inches (12x8.5x5.2 cms). It is in very good condition.There are a few surface bubbles from the firing. The interior base looks as if there was a firing problem which was repaired contemporaneously by adding more enamel and refiring. There is no sign on the exterior base. |
