A pair of small cinnabar lacquer vases carved with scenes of boys and scholars in a landscape with keyfret and lappet borders. The necks carved with floral scrolls. The rim and base have exposed metal. Probably dating from the late C19th., they stand 4 inches (10.3 cms) high. The lacquer is in good order. The paint has flaked off the metal rims and bases. |
