A rare Portobello pottery commemorative bowl with "Waterloo" over a scottish war bonnet all against a bright, sponged rouge de fer ground. Dating from c.1815, it measures 8 1/4inches (21 cms) across. There are some cracks to the body and chips to the base as photographed. There is no restoration. There is a similar, but far less attractive example in The National Museum of Scotland. |
