A Japanese kogo (Box and cover) decorated in imperial satsuma colours on a typical creamy pottery body. It is painted with immortals flying on cranes and has a sealmark signature painted on the base. Dating from the 2nd half of the C19th., it measures 6 inches across and 3 1/4inches high. There is some minor discolouration to the exterior and worse staining to the inside rim of the base. |
