An unusual French faience jewellery box in the form of a miniature bombe chest. It is signed to the base "Galle Nancy" and is an excellent example of work from this factory. There is a (retailers?) label to the back of the drawer. Dating from c.1900, it measures 5 1/4inches (13.4 cms) high and 9 inches (22.8 cms) wide. There is a small chip to the top corner of the carcass. The corners of the drawer and the rims of the handles have all been damaged and restuck/ restored. |
