A Satsuma globular vase decorated in coloured enamels and gilt with bijin in reserves on a cobalt blue and gilt ground. There is a 4 character mark to the base. Dating from c.1900, it stands 7 1/2inches (19 cms) high. There are two firing faults to the footrim which are original and glazed over and an adjacent miniscule glaze chip(See photo). There is wear to the gilding on the blue reserves. It is in otherwise good condition. |
