A charming Japanese vase decorated with cloisonne on a pottery body (Totai shippo). This is an extremely difficult ceramic technique which lasted for only a few years in the early Meiji period. Dating from the mid C19th., it stands 5 inches (12.7 cms) high. It is in good condition. |
