Kyo Satsuma vase decorated with birds amongst blossom with a brocade border at the rim. There is a 6 character mark of Taizan Yohei to the base. Dating from the 2nd half of the C19th., it stands 4 7/8inches (12.4 cms) high. There are some faint scratches near the border (possibly original from chasing the gilding). There is also some mis-firing to the black enamel near the rim. (I do not think it is wear because adjacent gilding is untouched.) Minor wear to gilding on the rim. Please study photos carefully. |
