Chinese porcelain brush washer decorated in flambe style glaze ranging from brown/black at base through celadon to copper red. The interior and base glazed white.The footrim burnt orange in part in the firing.There is a wide crackle to the exterior glaze and a finer crackle to the base and interior. Dating from the C19th., it measures 3 7/8inches (9.8 cms) across the body. There are faults to the footrim caused by kiln adhesion to the floor when being removed after firing.It is in good condition. |
