This is a wonderful Italian silver and hand painted enamel box, c. 1940s - 1950s, depicting lovers in a field. The box is a very unusual shape, has a cobalt blue enamel border and is in very good condition. It was made in Florence, Italy and is marked "800" (for 800 silver). The back has a lovely chased design and the interior is gold washed. It measures 3 7/16" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". There are a couple of shallow pinhead sized dings in the silver and a few very minor surface scratches on the enamel - visible only upon very close inspection.

This is a pair of sterling silver teaspoons by Stieff in their Rose pattern introduced in 1892. The teaspoons measure 6" and are in excellent condition with no monogram. They are marked "Sterling Stieff.d" together with an "H". From "TheSteiffCompany.com" - "The H represented the HEAVY weight silver. The sale of heavy pieces really came to a trickle in the depression. The October 1941 price guide shows Trade weight and medium weight spoons still available." I would assume from this that these teaspoons date to around 1920.
