This exceptional antique Chinese hand painted on black lacquer box exhibits the finest execution of painstakingly long traditional lacquer process of fine materials, many layers of lacquer over stitched thin leather cover material. Beautiful depiction of lucky seven red crested cranes noting good fortune and longevity under gilt painted trees and trim. Circa turn of the Century.
