Rare fine antique Royal Navy bicorn officer's hat made of genuine beaver pelt with matching custom carrying case - circa 1795 - 1812. This truly a piece of history (from Admiral Nelson's fleet?). This richly executed mid 19th century Italian tapestry depicting romance in a Spanish town square scene during market time is mounted and framed in an old hand carved wood frame. Featuring a woman selling fruit to a man and his mounted wife. A Prince courting his lover, and a squire courting a maid. This fine tapestry is made of Picardy and Arras wool, Italian silk and Cypriot gold and sliver gilt thread. Circa 1850. h. 22" w. 39".
