Cheng Yiting 1895 - 1948 Chinese Porcelain Panels
Written authentication for this piece provided by Qi Jixang, Senior Researcher from the National Museum of China in Beijing who closely examined it in person. Interested collectors are encouraged to contact us regarding this documentation. Finely executed set of four large Chinese Republic panels by Cheng Yiting (1895-1948) one of the famous Eight Friends of Zhushan, (under Master Pan Taoyu) who defined the Jungdezhen porcelain genre. These (each panel is signed by Cheng Yiting) fine masterpieces depict the four seasons framed in select rosewood inlaid with mother of pearl. Dimensions: 46.5" high X 16.25" wide each with frames - the actual porcelains alone measuring 30.25" high X 9.75" wide each. Strong demand for Cheng Yiting works is demonstrated by comparable public sales including the "equivalent sale price" of $107,000 for Lot # 257 the single 10" high 7.5 diameter brushpot Cheng Yiting signed painted porcelain at Christie's London on May 13, 2008, sale # 7581. - Comp.
