| "Superman, Sublime Hero" acrylic on canvas , signed and date 1990 by Sylvester Stallone. Dimensions: 72" X 54" (182.88 cm X 137.16 cm). This impressionist mythological modern self portrait is one of Stallone's finest most positive and uplifting work. Stallone has been painting his powerful and moving style since the 1970s before his breakout Academy Award winning acting, writing and directing career. A number of his smaller and lesser pieces have sold in the mid-high five figures ($50,000 - $90,000) at a solo showing in 2011 at the Gmurzynska Gallery in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2010, Las Vegas Mogul Steve Wynn purchased the lesser more negative "Toxic Superman" for $65,000.00. Provenance: Acquisition directly from the STALLONE Estate (via charity auction).
