This is an antique English knife rest or knife holder with quatrefoil pierced fancy ends and part barley twist bar. The knife rest measures 1.5 inches high by 3.5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide, made of EPN silver plated metal and was made in England 1880-1900. The knife rest is in excellent condition. This is a wonderful pair of antique hallmarked English sterling silver sugar tongs in the fiddle pattern. The sugar tongs or nips are hallmarked for London, England 1835 and the maker ABS. The knife rest dates to 1890-1910 and measures 3 inches long, 1.25 inches high, 2 inches wide and is in excellent condition. Knife rests were a victorian invention to keep the table cloth clean. This is a rare pair of English hallmarked sterling silver sugar, ice or dessert tongs made in 1844 by JS&S Sheffield, England. The tongs measure 6.5 inches long and have rare 3 dimensional claw foot ends with incredible detail and including a very rare inside toe or claw for gripping. This is an dainty pair of small victorian hallmarked sterling silver English sugar tongs or sugar nips with spoon ends. This set of small tongs is hallmarked for London, England 1884 with the maker's mark CB and are possible saccharine tongs for the artificial sweetner that was quite popular in the late victorian period until being banned in 1911 as a menace to health. The tongs are 4 inches long and are in excellent condition.
