This is a wonderful antique french part frosted or satin glass figural fish shape knife rest or knife holder dating to 1890-1915. The fish measures 1 inch high by 3.5 inches long by .5 wide and is marked on the foot Depose YER. Depose was not used in France after 1915. The fish is in excellent, mint condition. It has a blown bubble in it's mouth which I could not photograph successfully and is an elegant and whimsical way to keep your dirty knife off the table and keep your tablecloth clean. ...click for details

This is a pretty antique mid victorian pair of silver plate knife rests I got in England recently. The knife rests measure 3 inches long and are 1 inches high and wide and the ends have a maltese cross like shaped end with a fancy barley twist bar. The pair of antique knife holders is in excellent condition and were made in the 1850-1870s and are very decorative as well as practical to keep the tablecloth clean.

This carpet ball or carpet bowl is over 100 years old and is of original glazed hard fired clay. The design is an interesting one of white and pink or red plaid. Plaid was a favorite of Queen Victoria. The carpet ball is about 3.5 inches in diameter. It is quite heavy. The condition is very good. It has been used, and has a superficial flaw that looks to have been a manufacturing flaw. There are the usual tiny circle dents where the ball has been hit hard. This is a lovely ironstone double eggcup with lovely flower bouquet decals in an art nouveau style. I brought it home recently from Staffordshire, England. The egg cup is 4 inches high. The eggcup is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or wear. It was made in England, in the 1890-1910. It are unmarked.
