Motto Ware Sugar Basin Watcombe Torquay
This is a cute little motto ware or mottoware sugar basin or sugar bowl made by the Watcombe, Torquay England pottery 1867-1901. The motto is Sweeten To Your Liking and the bowl measures 2 inches high by 3.5 inches diameter at the bottom and 2.75 inche in diameter at the top. The sugar bowl is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. A very collectible piece. Famous and fun mottoware pottery has been manufactured in the south of England from the 1870's until the factories closed in the 1960's. It is usually of red clay decorated with bright glazes, cottages and mottos or sayings that run the gamut from proverbs and sound advice to nearly outrageous. Always fun & different and very collectible! Shipping in the US by USPS Priority Insured with tracking is $7.60.
