This is a wonderful old antique unmarked blue and black soft paste porcelain transfer or transferware tea cup and saucer in the New London shape made during the reign of Queen Victoria in Staffordshire, England 1850-1870s. The design has a blue gothic or moorish design with black portraits of people in midieval dress. The cup is 2.5 inches high and 3.5 in diameter, the saucer 5.75 in diameter. The teacup and saucer are in very good condition with only 2 old cup rim chips and some age discoloration. A wonderful piece of polychrome transferware and victoriana.
