| This is a wonderful antique Regency figural knife rest that I brought back from England recently. The knife rest is silver plated metal and cleaned up very well and has all it's silver plating. The knife rest features 2 upright crested birds that look like cranes or storks or maybe even phoenixes. The knife rest measures 4.75 inches long, 2.5 inches wide, 2 high and has hand made square nots and dates to the Regency period around the Napoleonic wars. Knife rests were a handy gadget designed loved to support a knife at the dining table and keep the tablecloth clean. A fabulous piece and so collectible!
