Medal Watch Fob Sterling Silver Irish Waltz Competition

This is a watch fob medal hallmarked for Dublin, Ireland 1948 and maker J. T. made of hand engraved hallmarked sterling silver and a gold filled applied shield. The watch fobs or medals were awarded and are engraved on the back Offaly Waltz Competition 1948 1st. The fob or medal measures 1.5 inches high by 1.25 inch wide and is in very good +++ condition with normal wear. This fob is especially collectible as one rarely sees them of Irish manufacture. A neat piece of nostalgia and history and are now experiencing a revival as fashion jewelry! Fob necklaces were featured in Victoria and Country Living magazines in January 2008.
