This is an antique victorian biscuit jar, cracker jar or biscuit barrel in handpainted imari colors that was made in Staffordshire England 1880-1900 that I brought back from England recently. The colorful and collectible biscuit barrel or cracker jar has the impressed under glaze mark of Octagon 24 England and then some gold numbers. The biscuit jar has a hand painted typically late victorian imari design of leaves and stylized motifs in hand painted cobalt and rust with gold accents. There is some gold wear, some crazing and a small lid chip but the jar is really in very good condition and is a very decorative piece typical of the period and well as highly usable and collectible. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
