Glove Stretcher Ivory English Antique Scissor Action

This is a wonderful item of victoriana. This is an antique ivory glove stretcher dating 1880-1890s. The glove stretcher measures 8 inches long and has a scissor action pivoting on an internal bone wheel. The action has a tight return and I don't know the mechanics but it works beautifully. The glove stretcher was an essential part of every victorian woman's vanity tolls or gadgets and was used to gently stretch the fingers of the many pairs of kidskin gloves required at the time. This glove stretcher was acquired from an estate in England recently and is excellent condition. Shipping in the US by USPS priority insured.
