Watch Fob Pendant Medal Sterling Silver With Gold Star

This is a wonderful marked sterling silver and 9 kt gold pocket watch fob or medal awarded in 1922 that I brought home recently from England but was probably made in the USA weighing 2.6 dwt or pennyweight. The watch chain ornament was awarded for an unknown sport. The inscription on the reverse is C & D C. A. Div. 3A 1922 A.E.I. It is beautifully hand engraved and pierced and has an applied 6 pointed 9 kt gold star in front for a monogram but there are none. The fob is is in excellent condition with normal wear. Neat piece of nostalgia and history and are now experiencing a revival as fashion jewelry! Fob necklaces were featured in Victoria and Country Living magazines in January 2008.
