Item #tr8110

This is a mulberry transfer or transferware butter chip, butter pat or small butter plate made in the 1890s with a mark that I can't identify. The ironstone butter pat has the name Catherine Mer...and I can't read the rest. I don't know if it is a pattern name or manufacturer. The British Registry date for the pattern is 1894. The butter pat measures 3 inches in diameter and is made of embossed ironstone with a foliate mulberry transfer border pattern. The butter pat, which makes a wonderful teabag caddy now, is in very good +++ condition with no chips or cracks but does have 2 tiny utensil marks from use. Shipping in the US by USPS first class mail insured.
