Egyptian Limestone Fragment of the God Horus
A wonderfully detailed wall fragment depicting the Egyptian God Horus. He is shown here as a "striding" Falcon, wearing both the white and red crowns of Upper and Lower Egypt to symbolize his supreme power over all of the lands. Height with the custom display stand is 9 inches. Dates to the Egyptian Late Period, ca. 664-323 B.C. Intact with nice pigment remaining. Ex. Australian collection, mid 80's, by way of Sands of Time Antiquities.
