This is a very fine example of American Art Glass by Durand of Vineland New Jersey. Executed in a base glass of Ambergris, an eye-catching platinum blue iridescence covers the surface of this blue lustre vase. The background décor has a multi colored coil pattern in white and gold. This beautiful trumpet vase was produced by Steuben, circa 1920's. A fine example of their Gold Aurene glass it has a multi hued iridescent finish with highlights of red, green, and magenta. Excellent condition with a fire polished rim and polished pontil. Measuring 8 1/4 in. Tall by 3 1/2 in. in Diameter this trumpet form vase is a truly beautiful piece of American Art Glass. Glass of this type may be referenced in books on Frederick Carder and Steuben by Dimitroff and Gardner.
