| This vase is a fantastic example of the Blue Lustre glass produced by Durand, circa 1920's. Fresh from an local estate this piece was owned by a group of nuns since it was purchased new to decorate their convent. The vase, form number 1714, is in excellent condition and measures 7 1/2 in High by 2 3/4 in Diameter. Polished pontil and Fire polished rim. It may be referenced in Durand The Man and His Glass By Meschi on pages 55 and 166. Overall, this vase is an outstanding example of American art glass that would compliment other pieces by Tiffany, Steuben, Quezal or Loetz. It would be a great addition to any private or public collection and is sure to increase in value as time goes on. | ||
