This is the most svelte inkstone bed (Mo-chuang)we have seen. It is used to place an inkstone or two on. The zitan is carved with little legs that curve in, the top is burl inlaid with silver. This a very nice root carving, it looks like a mountain. It was used to grace a scholar's desk. It is not as tall as some I have seen but is very well done. A stand will be made for it to sit on steadily. Very nice patina. Length: 35 cm, Width: 20 cm, Height: 48 cm.
